**Breed and promote horses with conformation and disposition to excel as using
horses.  "Pretty is as pretty does", Mike believes, "although a good looking head
hanging over that stall door is what I want and I breed for it as well."

**Train horses without gimmicks.  "Horses should be light in the mouth and move
off your leg", Mike believes.  And he will tell you the only way to train a horse is

will find a way to cheat you.  If your horse can't do it, I will

**"Horses are meant to be used by their owners, not
their trainers", Mike believes. "I train horses to be turned
over to their owners for riding and showing as quickly as
possible although I continue to assist and mentor as
needed through short-term training and lessons."
